Lecale Review

The Society has a long and proud history of publishing articles, stories and photographs that reflect the history and memory of Lecale and County Down.
The journal of the former Lecale Historical Society was the Lecale Miscellany, which was launched in February 1983. Edited by the late Mr Albert Colmer, the Miscellany is a treasure trove of rich information across twenty volumes (1983-2002).
The current journal, Lecale Review, has been published annually since 2003. Members of the Lecale & Downe Historical Society receive a copy free of charge. Previous copies are available for purchase. Please contact lecalehistory@hotmail.com

Contributions to the Lecale Review can be made by members and non-members. These may range from short notices to longer pieces. These can be academic - but do not have to be academic - in content or tone. We are particularly interested in publishing information and stories from people who might not ordinarily think of writing them down. An editorial committee takes responsibility for the publication of the Lecale Review. The committee oversees submissions and prepares the collection for publication.
Anyone who would like to contribute to the Lecale Review can make initial contact by emailing lecalerevieweditorial@gmail.com
The editorial committee has prepared a set of house style guidelines for contributors. Please click on the link to download a copy.
