After the summer break the Lecale & Downe Historical Society welcomed Dr Colm Donnelly, Director of the Centre for Archaeological Fieldwork and a Senior Research Fellow at Queen’s University, Belfast, as its speaker on Thursday 26 September 2024. A good crowd braved the inclement weather to hear a fascinating account of tower houses across Ireland and especially in Lecale. Delivered in an authoritative but witty style, all of those who attended were both thoroughly informed and entertained.
