Ruairí Ó Baoill's recent lecture at the February meeting of the Lecale & Downe Historical Society received a welcome visit from members of the Magnus Viking Association, a group of local historical re-enactors who specialise in bringing the past to life. The meeting's focus was on the Viking Age Archaeology of Ireland and the living history group opened the proceedings with a blast from a horn, bringing the eighty-strong audience to silence as Ruairí took to the stage.
