Following the Annual General Meeting in May, the new Trustees of the Lecale & Downe Historical Society met in Denvir’s Hotel in August to begin their term in office. Thanks were expressed to outgoing Chair Roderick Downer and Secretary Marian McGreevy for their tremendous work and their invaluable assistance in the handover of responsibility. The new Trustees are aware of the weight of responsibility that the role requires and look forward to serving the Society to the best of their abilities. Following in the footsteps of the many who have served the Lecale & Downe Historical Society since its inception is a daunting task. First and foremost, the Trustees aim to continue the fascinating talks, outings and scholarship that have been the hallmarks of the Society for many years.
